Recipes for your Bamboo Straws

Smoothies are simple to make using a blender. We love this one (suitable for all ages):

  • 1 banana
  • 80 – 100 g of any soft fruit (we find strawberries or raspberries are good)
  • 100 – 150 mls milk or yogurt
  • A little honey (according to your taste)
  • A few drops of vanilla essence

Put everything in the blender and wizz for about a minute – enough for 2 people – delicious.

Here’s one with porage (or porridge if you prefer) oats:

  • 1 banana
  • 1 tablespoon porage oats
  • 80 g soft fruit
  • 150 mls milk or yogurt
  • A little honey
  • A few drops of vanilla essence

We weren’t very keen on green smoothies – until we found this:

  • 140 – 160 g strawberries
  • 160 g spinach
  • The flesh of one small avocado
  • 150 mls milk or yoghurt
  • Juice of one large or two small oranges + some zest

This is delicious – and has an oriental flavour:

  • 3 ripe mangoes
  • 500 g plain yogurt
  • A little honey (to your taste)
  • Juice of two limes

Here’s another oaty smoothie:

  • 2 tablespoons oats
  • 250 mls almond milk
  • 200 g strawberries
  • 1 tablespoon ground almonds
  • 1 small banana
  • Honey – to your taste

If you like it really cold – a couple of ice cubes
